ADDITIONAL SERVICE WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES

From major US gateway via Miami on American Airlines, operates weekly to Martinique with a non-stop flight on Saturdays out of Miami. During the winter season, American Airlines is adding a midweek flight on Wednesday. This summer, starting June 4th, American Airlines will increase the air service with 4 weekly flights on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. And starting July 2nd, this air service will increase to 6 weekly flights to Fort-de-France.

A NOT-TO-BE MISSED CRUISE DESTINATION IN 2015: MARTINIQUE

The Martinique cruise sector has been riding an unprecedented wave of success in recent years, registering a 524% increase in cruise passengers since 2010. Widespread improvements in the island’s overall cruise product highlighted by capital improvements at the cruise ports in Fort-de-France and new and enhanced attractions to spell success. The destination is forecasting a strong 2014-2015 cruise season, as all of the major U.S. and European cruise lines will make port in Fort-de-France this season, including visits by Royal Caribbean’s celebrated Quantum of the Seas in her inaugural season, last December 6th 2014. Four other calls are scheduled on January 17th, March 7th and April 18th 2015.

Tours are departing from Pointe Simon and Les Tourelles ports in Fort-de-France. Get immersed in the Martinican heritage at the Slaves Savannah, enjoy a day, toes in the water at the white sanded Pointe-Marin Beach, watch iguanas at the almost pristine Islet Chancel or discover Fort-de-France during a walking tour. Take the opportunity to encounter sea turtles and spend the rest of the day at Grand Anse, a beautiful beach with warm and crystal clear water. Also new, the opening of 17th century Fort Saint-Louis to the public. Visitors can arrange for guided tours of the city’s newest attraction (also one of its oldest structures), Fort Saint-Louis, at the Fort-de-France Tourism Board information kiosk.

And if you are looking for a cultural and exciting excursion through the Capital City, jump on board Cyclo’comm! This new concept is creative vehicle that can carry from one to three persons at the same time. Their drivers/guides will take you to 14 historical and must-seen places in downtown Fort-de-France such as the Saint-Louis Cathedral, museums and the Schoelcher Library. With family, in couple or by yourself, jump on board and join the fun!
